1.0 Purpose:
The purpose of operation procedure is to maximize the performance of equipment by ensuring that the equipment performs regularly and efficiently, by attempting to prevent the breakdowns or failures and minimizing the losses resulting from breakdowns or failures while starting the equipment.
2.0 Scope:
This SOP is applicable for standard Operation for the DC Motor.
3.0 Responsibility:

5.0 Output:

6.0 Process:

Engineer2Check the motor Bed Bolt tightness and Coupling freeness by hand.Engineer3Ensure power supply is off.Electrician4Check the armature and field resistance if the motor with Multimeter.Electrician5Check the brush holder tightness and also check the brush sitting clearance.
Engineer6Clean the Commutator & carbon brushes.
Electrician7Segments also check the pressure on brushes.
Electrician8Techno coupling, connections, mounting checking.Electrician9Check the megger value of the motor power cable.
Electrician10Check the Cooling fan tightness or Cooling air blower motor available check the termination and megger value of the blower motor.Electrician11Check the motor termination, cable gland seating area and also tightness of the terminal block.
Electrician12Switch on the SFU/Breaker.
Electrician13Take clearance from Turbine Engineer / shift in chargeEngineer/ Shift in charge14Start the motor from locally and check the speed variation is correct timing as per the drawing.Electrician / Shift in charge15Check the pressure of the pump discharge at full rpm of the motor and stop the motor .

- Adherence to Equipment Checklist and running parameter of the motor (Current, Voltage, Bearing temperature and Vibration) should be, maintain in the records.Cost of Spares used or Replaced
Check for Megger values with in specified limits. Check trip circuit healthiness for DC Motor.
Check for starting and running loads during trial run. Check for any excessive heat generation in motor.
