1.0 Purpose:
The purpose of operation procedure is to maximize the performance of equipment by ensuring that the equipment performs regularly and efficiently, by attempting to prevent the breakdowns or failures and minimizing the losses resulting from breakdowns or failures while starting the equipment.

2.0 Scope:
This SOP is applicable for standard Operation for the DC Motor.

3.0 Responsibility:

    Check the motor Bed Bolt tightness and Coupling freeness by hand.

    Check the brush holder tightness and also check the brush sitting clearance.

    Check the megger value of the motor power cable.

    Check the Cooling fan tightness or Cooling air blower motor available check the termination and megger value of the blower motor.

    Check the motor termination, cable gland seating area and also tightness of the terminal block.

    Switch on the SFU/Breaker.

    Take clearance from Turbine Engineer / shift in charge

    Start the motor from locally and check the speed variation is correct timing as per the drawing.

    Check the pressure of the pump discharge at full rpm of the motor and stop the motor .

    Keep the motor in DCS with Auto mode for safety purpose and check once from Remote / DCS also

    Clean the work place & equipment’s after completed the job.

    7.0 Process Performance Parameter and Process Control Parameter
    •   % deviation from Target Mean Time Taken to Repair
    •   Adherence to Equipment Checklist and running parameter of the motor (Current, Voltage, Bearing temperature and Vibration) should be, maintain in the records.Cost of Spares used or Replaced
    Check for Megger values with in specified limits. Check trip circuit healthiness for DC Motor.
    Check for starting and running loads during trial run. Check for any excessive heat generation in motor.
